Crazy hair

Trindon has been waking up from his naps with the craziest hair. I'm not sure what he's doing in his crib to cause this, but it's funny. I didn't do anything to his hair after getting him up, but of course I combed it after I took a picture!!

Christmas

Santa made it to the Baker house this year! The kids actually slept in a little later than normal on Christmas morning, we'll enjoy that while we can. Santa brought a little table and chair set for Leah and Trindon. He also brought a baking set that has been a huge hit with both kids, that is when Leah lets Trindon touch it. At the bottom of this picture you can kind of see Trindon's Radio Flyer push wagon.

Santa brought Leah a princess bike, so she can quit stalking the neighbor girl, and a Tangled baby just like she asked for. She also got a Tinkerbell watch (another thing she asked for after a meltdown in JCPenney when she couldn't have it right then), some Princess slippers that she has since started calling her ballet shoes, and some color wonder markers.

Trindon got a stuffed elephant for his crib that is the same brand as Leah's giraffee, maybe he will quit coveting her giraffee now. Kids wanting other kids toys seems to be a common thing around here. He also got a farm, a cell phone, some trucks, and a Radio Flyer walker wagon.

This picture of the wagon wasn't taken on Christmas morning, but for some reason I failed to get a picture of him with it then. It's a walker wagon, so he can push it and practice walking behind it.

Leah and Trindon exchanged gifts this year. Trindon got Leah a Cars Aquadoodle. For those of you that are unfamiliar with Aquadoodle it's a special cloth mat with a pen that you fill with water. The water writes on the mat in red but doesn't make a mess. It's very cool and Mommy even enjoys playing with it. Leah picked out a ball popper for Trindon. When he was opening it she said "that came from Walmart." Now she says that she got it from Santa.

Trindon with his ball popper and baseball blanket from Grandpa and Grandma B (a/k/a Papa Seeping and Mee Maw)
Thank you to the grandparents for Cars 2, a tool workbench, new clothes, and a new cuddly blanket for each of them. Thank you to Uncle Bob for the Zoo Talkers Little People Zoo, a picnic basket, and a chef set. The kids got so many gifts I couldn't take post pictures of everything! We are very grateful for our wonderful family and friends and their generosity. The kids love all of their stuff and Mommy is happy we have some new stuff to keep them entertained through the winter.

We have been enjoying having Daddy around a little more this week. We made a family trip to Costco on Tuesday and have had a chance to get caught up on some chores around the house. We are looking forward to spending New Year's Eve with the Robinson family. Leah can't wait to see her cousins!

Just an update

There's not too much going on with us. Just getting ready for Christmas like the rest of you. We have been baking and making some candy. I made homemade cinnamon rolls about a week ago and Leah loved them. She didn't want to share with Phil because he ate his without frosting. She is definitely a girl after my own heart, she asks for "more frosting". The next weekend I made baked french toast and she thought she needed to have frosting on that too!

I finally broke down and bought a little potty. I was dead set against this and really wanted to train Leah on the regular potty, but she will have nothing to do with it. Last week she started pretending to potty in the play pot from her kitchen, which was slightly alarming and very disgusting so I decided we had to try something else. She loves her princess potty and wants to use it all the time she just hasn't actually done anything on it. She got a giant marshmallow for sitting on it without her diaper on. She won't get another marshmallow until she does "something" on it.

Trindon has his own blanket, which he loves, but for some reason he's very drawn to Leah's pink blanket. He was cuddling with Phil on the couch and kept laying his head on Phil's chest and sucking his thumb.

Just a cute picture of Leah wearing her hat. She loves finding fun stuff to wear. I remember loving to play dress up too.

Trindon is on his feet all the time these days. He's so stinkin cute!! How bout those big blue eyes:)

Check out our new Youtube videos. They are still uploading as I'm typing this, but this is the link to one of them http://youtu.be/_jIer7wdorY. There will be two, so look for the two newest ones. Trindon is displaying his impatience with me while I'm feeding him and he is having a blast playing in the princess ball pit. Enjoy!

Visiting with the Geers

Nick and Mira were in Plano for the weekend for a birthday party, they invited us to come spend the day with them on Sunday. We picked them up and had lunch at Rudy's, one of  Nick's favorite Dallas area BBQ joints. Rudy's was delicious!! Then we headed to the mall for some shopping. Leah is usually a terror anytime we try to take her shopping, but she had Mira to entertain her so she did really well. Mira loves to take pictures and Leah loves to look at pictures of herself so they were a good match.

On Monday I asked Leah if she wanted to look at pictures of her and Mira. She said "and Nick too". We had a great day with the Geers we really miss them and hope to see them again soon! I think we'll have to make a trip to Arizona sometime soon.

Christmas Photos

I took the kids to a photographer to get some Christmas pictures taken. Leah is in a very disagreeable phase and Trindon is just constantly on the move, so I didn't have high hopes for how they would turn out. She at least got a decent one of them together and a couple cute ones of each of them individually. Leah is Miss Silly all the time, but for some reason gets super serious every time we try to do professional pictures. I think from now on I will save the money and just take pictures myself!

This is one of the proofs and you can view the rest on this website http://lschuessler.photobiz.com/cart/event_login.cfm?eventID=914040
enter "baker" all lowercase as the password. I think they will be available for viewing through early January.

Fall Photos

I realized I never posted these anywhere. We took some family photos and some pictures of the kids when we were in Utah this fall. They turned out about as I expected for a regular camera, no photography skills, and two crazy kids. I love the one of Trindon in the wagon. I had some Christmas photos taken of them a few weeks ago so hopefully they will turn out well and I can order some prints.

Trouble!

That’s trouble with a capital T.
PB260062
I’m not going for the puppy’s water mommy, just the food bowl. Ha, the other day he spilled the water all over the floor and was splashing around in it.

This Christmas tree sure is fun to play with!

Look at me standing up! I’m going to be walking before you know it!

Tis the Season!

We got the tree put up today! Leah had fun helping decorate and Trindon thinks the shiny ornaments are pretty fun. He keeps trying to get them in his mouth and Leah keeps saying she wants a candy cane. Putting the tree up made me think of when we put the tree up last year, we lived in Florida and I was pregnant with Trindon. We knew we would be moving soon, but we had no idea where.  Amazing how much can change in a year. It's so nice put a tree up in my own house again, I haven't done that since we left Louisiana.
After we got the tree put up I let the kids open a gift. I've decided to start a new tradition of letting them open new Christmas jammies the night we put up the tree. I know a lot of people do this on Christmas Eve, but if the jammies are Christmas themed I like the idea of being able to wear them all season long.  This was Trindon's first ever present to open. Of course he just chewed on it. In case your wondering why he's only wearing one sock - it's because he threw up on the other one.

Of course I had to get a picture of both kids in their new jammies in front of the tree (at least I tried). Phil told me I was trying to do the impossible.

Just a little blog FYI - You can click any picture in the blog to see it larger and it will bring up all the pictures in that post. Trindon has the cutest little smile in the top right photo here (just in case you need a better view of that cutie pie). Just hit Esc to go back.

Lots of Laughs!

I actually missed the best shot of Trindon doing this, but you get the idea. He thinks smashing his nose against the side of this is the funniest thing ever.

Trindon loved the Cozy Coupe he even figured out how to put his feet down and push himself backward....

and then this happened.

He pushed back further than his little legs could keep up with. Poor baby....but it looks a lot worse than it actually was, it happened so slowly he really didn't get hurt.

These are some of my favorites. These were taken at the same time as the video I posted on YouTube. I love how Trindon is looking at her, he loves it when she plays with him!

Leah's room is finally painted!

Several months ago we were really excited about getting some of the house repainted. We started upstairs with the bonus room, then the office, the dining room and then......we kind of lost steam. Leah's room was the last room on the list, but we knew it would be hard to get it done because we would normally paint after the kids would go to sleep at night. That meant finding somewhere else for her to sleep, which could mean DISASTER.  Neither of us really wanted to deal with Leah on anything less than a full night of sleep so we kept putting it off. Not to mention the fact that her room has like 12' ceilings and we had to paint the ceiling too. I had finally had enough and decided last weekend was the weekend no matter what! Phil was not too pleased and pretty much pouted all weekend, but we got it done! (Don't ask Phil about when he spilled paint all over the floor.) Leah attempted to sleep on her mattress upstairs, but ended up in bed with us on Friday night, Phil slept with her on Saturday night, and she made it all night upstairs on Sunday night. Now she keeps asking to go sleep upstairs.

Homestead Resort Tea Room Cream is a much more appropriate color for a little girl than Studio Taupe. It looks so cute with her furniture and bedding. Now I just need to get curtains and decorations. She loves it and keeps talking about her yellow and white (the ceiling) room.

Will Grunt for Food!

Trindon has really taken to the solids. He always has to be eating if we are eating. In this video he had just had a bottle and a jar of food, but still needed several snacks while Leah and I ate dinner. I swear the kid would find a way to eat a cheeseburger if I gave it to him!

Leah got her first haircut!
We decided it was finally time for a trim. At first she really didn't want to go to the salon, but a promise of a treat from her Halloween bucket convinced her to go and sit very still throughout the cut. Really I think she just liked looking at herself in the mirror!

Halloween Fun!

As you can see from these cute pictures the kids looked adorable in their costumes. When Trindon first saw Leah decked out in her bee costume he busted up laughing. He just kept laughing at her like she was the funniest thing he had ever seen. Our power went out just as I got the kids dressed and ready to Skype with Grandma. The Skype session didn't happen and we had to hurry and get our trick-or-treating in before it got dark because most of the neighborhood was without power.

We met up with Hadley and Melissa from next door so we could all trick-or-treat together. Melissa had the perfect backdrop for pictures.

We had a blast trick-or-treating and the kids got lots of candy. Our power was still out when we got done and Daddy has just gotten home so we decided to go to Chili's and grab some dinner. Leah loved getting to go out in her costume. Trindon decided to spill Phil's entire drink on him, the table, and the diaper bag so dining out was a fun experience as usual.

Leah wanted to take her Halloween bucket and treats to bed with her. She didn't sleep very well last night I think she must have been dreaming about "chocy".

Tennessee Trip!

We had so much fun on our Tennessee trip! It was great to spend some time back in the Nashville area. Our drive took us through Arkansas, which was a first for me and the kids so we had to document it. We saw some really pretty scenery between here and Nashville. Arkansas was nice enough that we think we may try some camping there next year. I'm not much for camping, but we'll see.

We visited a really cool pumpkin patch on Friday. Leah kept talking about how we were going to the farm to see the animals and the pumpkins, but all she wanted to do when we got there was play on the little plastic slide.

Trindon had a blast at the pumpkin patch. He loved sitting on the ground posing for all his pictures.
As usual Trindon has spit-up on his shirt.
We couldn't convince Uncle Bob to visit "the farm" with us, and since that was the only time I had the camera out we failed to get a picture of him with the kids.
